Webinar Overview 

When developing Product Category Rules (PCR’s), this course will provide an overview of how they apply to interior architectural doors and fenestration products, how to define PCR’s, explaining their purpose, identifying key components, and applying requirements in practice. In addition, the course provides an understanding of the relationship of PCR’s to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA’s), and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s).

What You Will Learn 

By the end of this course, you will understand:

  • The overarching principles to how a PCR is developed.
  • The purpose and scoping of developing a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and how data is collected and evaluated.
  • How to identify common environmental impact categories, evaluate environmental trade-offs, and how to apply the LCA’s to products and services.
  • The foundational principles of developing Environmental Product Declarations (EPD’s) and their role in sustainability, transparency, and product claims and how EPD’s are used in green building programs.
