Sustainable home features and environmentally friendly neighborhoods are becoming important factors for home buyers, according to the second annual Realtors and Sustainability Report, which polled members of the National Association of Realtors. The survey focused on sustainability issues facing consumers in the real estate market, as well as ways realtors are setting their own goals to reduce energy usage. The report found that 61 percent of respondents think consumers have an interest in sustainability when it comes to buying a home.
“For the second year in a row, data has shown that Realtors are marketing energy efficiency in property listings to home buyers, with more information fields in the listing to identify a property’s green features.”
